Tomorrow is election day. Will you stand with us?

June 25, 2012 - Night before the election.
Dear Friends,
Tonight I address you one last time to ask for your vote in tomorrow’s primary. Because of all the hard work so many of you have done for the cause, I am confident we will win tomorrow. Thanks to you, this election is already ranked among the top races in the country to watch.
We already know that Congress must change course from the reckless policies of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and our own representative, Carolyn McCarthy. Those of us committed to lower taxes, less spending, and keeping our country safe know that accomplishing these goals requires real, fundamental change.
The impact of this election may be felt for years to come, from the national level to the local level. Recent coverage has blown the whistle on a corrupt political culture that puts power over principle, that shuns new ideas and fresh faces, and that has ignored the Republican-Conservative imperative to use the power of government wisely, lest we undermine the freedom and dignity to which people are entitled.
I know a lot of rank and file committeepeople and leaders, elected and unelected, do not like this state of affairs. For the sake of our neighbors who continue to suffer, I ask for their support, even if it is in the privacy of the voting booth. I never thought I’d have to say this in America, and with victory tomorrow, the day will hopefully arrive in our community when there will be greater political freedom outside the privacy of the voting booth.
I believe we will succeed not just because of organization or name recognition. A name means nothing if it is not backed by integrity, and an organization is only as good as the purpose to which its energy is directed. What we have that the other side does not is heart. We believe that public service can be a selfless and altruistic calling, and we put honesty and principle first. We embrace those basic principles of right and wrong we learned as children and understand the importance of passing them along to our own children. We believe in the truth and shun lying and cheating to get our way.
In one sense, we have already won, because we took the high road when the other side did not. Years from now, people will look back and wonder how it ever was that my opponent’s campaign to fabricate a lie to tell the voters was sanctioned by the top of the Nassau GOP leadership. In the most profound sense, they have already lost, because they lost what matters most. I am grateful to all those in the organization who stood on principle and said they would not have a hand in disseminating the lie to the voters. That is a test of character.
Recent events make it clear that this election is not only about the soul of our country, but about the soul of the Republican and Conservative Parties in Nassau County. It is about whether we the people are truly free to control our destiny or whether we are pawns to be bartered for the benefit of a tiny few who view government as a business organized for their own enrichment.
We have the heart, but we need to take it to the polls tomorrow. If you are a registered Republican or Conservative, make sure you come to the polls. If you haven’t done so already, please urge your family and friends to do so. Turnout is expected to be very low tomorrow, so every vote may be that much more decisive.
As the eyes of the nation are watching, let us together show them what we, the people of Nassau County, have in us. We will show that the slow, soulless march of a machine is no match for the human spirit!
In Freedom,

Frank Scaturro
Republican Candidate for New York's 4th Congressional District

About Frank
Frank Scaturro is a Republican candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives in New York’s 4th Congressional District. Frank believes our nation is at a tipping point, and if we do not turn things around, we could face many more years of decline. That is why he is offering the voters of Nassau County a real choice for principled new leadership that will finally represent the people.
As a principled new voice, Frank will work to make our Federal government accountable to the people again, reign in out-of-control spending, and reduce a crushing federal tax burden that hurts Long Island citizens and businesses.
Frank Scaturro was born in New York City in 1972 and raised in New Hyde Park following his family’s move to that community in 1973. His father, who had emigrated from Italy as a boy, was self-employed in a commercial air conditioning and refrigeration repair business for several years. He later became the supervisor of maintenance and operations at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City and then held a similar position at Chaminade High School in Mineola. His mother studied physical therapy at Nassau Community College and worked near home as a secretary at an insurance agency and several law firms. Read More
